Sunday 31 January 2010

What a day! Giles' parents came up very early to help with the children. Giles and Chris (his dad) made a ramp for the wheelchair while Ursula (his mum) looked after the children and the house! I had my usual visit from my wonderful district nurses. Lisa then came round and gave me a massage and we're planning that she'll take a photo of me with each of the children. (She's a brilliant photographer!)
A Lady Gaga concert was planned for tonight. Sophie had already made the tickets for Giles and I. (We were supposed to go at the end of February - but not sure that's possible any more.) With Jane (my sister) an alternative was arranged in the house. Costumes were bought and dance moves practised. I have never seen all of my family in such a way! I'm not sure (hope!) the men's leotards will be used again! Very, very funny!

What a wonderful idea! Everyone looks Fabulous. Fun and Frivolity is exactly what is needed,( I would say just what the Doctor ordered, but that is a bit too cliche even for me).
Katie wishing you an easy night, and a goodnight's sleep for all.
Thinking of you all, always. God Bless, Lots of Love, Debra, Kevin and The Girls XOXOX

Oh my God!

ALL the Nicholls' boys in sliver leotards... that must rate as one of the funniest things I have ever seen! :))

Hope you enjoyed the action - obviously they put in a tremendous effort. All the costumes look fab :)

I am so glad that you made the reunion too... gives the mind something else to focus on - and there is nothing better than a room full of friends recounting memorable moments from happy times.

Wishing you a good day today - lots of love, Sx

Dear Katie,
A friend told me of your unfortunate fate at the weekend and I havent passed a moment without thinking of you since, I remember you from school and you were such a nice girl, I have just read your blog and shed a mountain of tears, I cry as I write this to you because it seems so unfair, though in every photo you have such a beautiful smile, your children too, if only all the thoughts and prayers in life could make a difference to your existance i would do it all day for you, I admire you to be able to write with such dignity and positivity, you clearly are a good person and this will reflect in your children and they will continue your life for you,
Much Much love to you, you will be in my thoughts for ever
God Bless you and may I say your hair looks fab xxx

Super costumes and what good fun -though can understand that Evie might have been just a wee bit scared! Oh to appear in a silver leotard - fulfills all our fantasies! There must be some way of dealing with this appalling pain -hoping so much that this can be done asap. Talk about seizing the moments though Katie -so well done - a true heroine. Love Pam and Gary

Oh My Goodness!!! I laughed and cried at the same time!! Maybe there should be a health warning on one of those photos! Absolute deep respoect for your Dad. That truely shows how much he must love you!! What a guy (and your brothers too - of course) but your Dad - What a top man. Love Hollie and the Fair Isle gang xxxx

Hi Katie
Sharon and Rob passed me your blog address and told me your news - I am devastated for you (although this is not much help to you).

I have 2 daughters now too, and can barely think of myself in your position. It seems as though your family, Giles and the girls are all so wonderful and you have coped in the way that so many sufferers do, with enormous dignity and pride in the life that goes on.

I am thinking of you and hope that all your pains can be managed.I will always think of you as the belle of the ball at any University (Square) 'do'.
Bless you Katie, you are a lesson to us all.
Much love Alison (now Currie) but once A. Hole!!

Priceless! Plenty of waxing business for a good beautician there. Can only imagine the hysterics that went on.
So glad you have something to really laugh at. Well done to all responsible (or should that be irresponsible!)
Hope the pain is under control again

I'm so sorry the pain has been harder the last few days, but it looks like your family came up with their own unique pain relief!
Well done to all of them! I hope it put a smile on your beautiful face.
