Another busy day! Wonderful to see old school friends, Mel and Mic this morning, followed by Sonja, who gave me a relaxing head massage. Then Paul came to have a look at my elephant leg. He did some massage but there's no change yet. He's coming back tomorrow to do more. The consultant from the Isabel Hospice then popped in. (She feels it's easier for her to come to me than me go to her - how nice is that?) We talked pain control and lymphodema (and bowels!). The pain control has been good this week and she is suggesting reducing the Oyxcontin (strong morphine-like drug) further to see if it alleviates my drowsiness.
Giles has counted up the extra people in our house today and he reckons we're up to 16!
I've tried to book tickets to see the Princess and the Frog in half term tonight on-line and given up. It's proving too difficult with the wheelchair access seat. How rubbish is that? I'll have to call them tomorrow to sort it out!
We're also planning a party - with children. Provisionally Sunday March 7th. Everyone is invited. So maybe try and keep the date free. More details to follow........

Again another agonising day for you, though you write so gracefully about this reality, I hope the pain releif is worked out for you soon and I pray for your leg to not be a hinderance to you. You are in my thoughts almost all day every day, you are oing an amazing job and from your friends comments you are an amazing Mum, Sister, Friend and you will be forever in our thoughts, Much love to you x

I totally agree with the above comments, you have dealt with all of this with such grace and hopefully we can all learn a great deal on what really is important in life. There is not a moment now through the day that I don't think about you & your family, also what you are going though that day but what you still manage to give back to life. You truly are an inspiration. xxxxxxx

Hi Katie - sounds like you've had a very busy and full week since I saw you last and so many visitors too! Sorry to hear about your leg - I do hope the massage tomorrow can help disperse some of the fluid. Hope also that you can all go out to the cinema. Party on 7th March sounds a great idea - I'm sure your house will be full to overflowing! I'd love to come over and see you again next week - my parents will be with me for a few days as D is away skiing, so perhaps I could come one evening - and hopefully miss any jams on the M25! I've been lucky the last few times! I will give you a call very soon though. Am thinking of you lots and look forward to seeing you all again soon.
Much love, Rebecca xxxx

A party?! Wow, you just don't stop! That sounds fantastic. We will have to book slots to talk to you as you will be the centre of everything. Hope that Paul can sort things out for you a bit more tomorrow and that your drug advice proves helpful as well. Plus, hope the cinema bookings work out - someone has contacted Harlow cinema for you, how nice of them!
lots of love

Yay! Party plans already underway. Annoyingly I cant make the 7th March as I will be cycling up the Irish coast on the Grand Slam bike challenge but I'm sure Mic will fill me in! I'll just send some cupcakes in my place :)

I know the last few days haven't been easy, but it sounds like you've been doing some wonderful things. The handprints are a gorgeous idea. I'm glad you've got Ian, he'll be a great help. And a party - you just don't stop do you?!
Well done you - you're an inspiration.
