I have just read this blog, i had melanoma removed off my hand in 2008 when i was 20. wish i could of spoke with Katie. Thinking of you. Gemma Jordan
I saw the BBC article and have just read through the whole blog. Completely inspirational, what an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend Katie was.
I hope it comforts you to know that people are still getting to know Katie, via this blog, and being inspired by her every day.

What a wonderful, heartfelt, sad, devastating account of what happens to someone with Melanoma. Katie is a true warrior and her fight will not be forgotten. Thank you for sharing her story.

I don't know you Giles, (other than as a GP)but I read this blog after seeing the article in the Mercury.
I have prayed for you and your beautiful children every night since and hope you draw strength from all the love and support that is winging its way to you from so many people.
Katie was obviously much loved and her fortitude and humour in the blog are inspiring. I wish you all the very best. x

I note from the BBC item that you are a GP, have a mole scanner, and want to raise awarenmess of melanoma and improve early detection. Me too.
I'm a Hampshire GP with some wider connections who wants to do something about melanoma by promoting GP education and researching and promoting community based dermoscopy. When you're ready, I would be delighted to hear from you if you'd like to hear more. I can be contacted through the Primary Care Dermatology Society (www.pcds.org)

Hello,we read the BBC article this evening. It's really good, well done Giles.
Austin and Amos really enjoyed Sophie, Sam and Evies company on Sunday when they played for a while, Austin rates Sam as a football player, and cant wait for him to come back to Kent soon for another game!

I'm so glad that you and the children got to release the laterns and make your wishes.
The articles in Express and on the BBC health web were excellent and hopefully will raise awareness of this cruel disease.
Katie would have been very proud of all your hard work and I'm sure a bit chuffed at how many hits they have had.
If it makes a difference to just one person's life it's worth it.
